The Goathland stationmaster oversees the arrival of the 1350 departure to Pickering, hauled by the Southern Railway No. 926 ‘Repton’. Displaying such head code, this could have been, among others, a London Bridge to Norwood Junction via Selhurst or the long gone Oxted to Brighton working.

The loco is about to pass the site of the former Farwath station. Although the platform has been removed, the station building is still in place and is now a private dwelling.
