Hazlewood station closed to passengers with the closure of the Wirksworth branch in 1947. It did not see another passenger service for 55 years until the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway opening in 2002. Although there are no plans to reopen the station itself, the building remains, and there is even a name board. On a very warm October day, W55006 Class 122 railcar trundles along the branch line bound for Duffield.
101685 arrives into Levisham with the 1630 Grosmont to Pickering. ‘Daisy’, as it has been nicknamed, will take the bevy of volunteers performing their duties about the station back to Pickering and Levisham will remain very quiet until the final departure of the day, the 1710 Whitby to Pickering.
