EP09-015 crosses Nogat with the EIC45000 (103) Sobieski. This picture was taken from the northern bridgehead of the former road-rail bridge, which carried the narrow gauge railway from the station in Kalthof (post-war: Malbork Kałdowo Wąskotorowy) into the grounds of the Malbork castle and further towards Marienburg Kleinbahnhof (Malbork Wąskotorowy). The line then continued to Lichtfelde (Świetliki). Destroyed during the WW2, this bridge was never rebuilt.
One of the evening fast services from Gdynia to Warsaw, the EIC5102 Gdynia Główna - Warszawa Zachodnia reduces the speed ahead of the station stop in Malbork. Formed of an EP09 and seven carriages, this might be your choice if you prefer loco-hauled trains over the Pendolinos.
EP09-046 is approaching the city of Rzeszów from the east, hauling the TLK38170 ‘Ustronie’ from Przemyśl Główny to Kołobrzeg. The full journey is 1132 km long and takes over 17 hours, enough to enjoy a proper sleep in either the sleeper or the couchette at the end of the formation.
