EU07-060 is passing the stop of Marcinków with the last TLK31110 Połoniny from Przemyśl Główny to Warszawa Wschodnia. The day after this photo was taken, the Połoniny have been renamed to Witos and another pair of IC trains have been added on the once forgotten railway between Tarnobrzeg and Skarżysko Kamienna.
EP07-542 arrives into Rzeszów Główny with the usually delayed IC3700 Siemiradzki from Przemyśl to Poznań and Zielona Góra. Since the introduction of the 2018 timetable, the trains between Kraków and Przemyśl have been subject to many delays resulting from poor loco diagramming. Extensive engineering works in the Kraków area don’t help, either.
After a period of fascination with ‘corporate’ liveries, Polish railway companies started to repaint some of their locos into various historical liveries. One of such examples is EP07-338 carrying a very smart livery from the 1980s, commonly referred to as ‘trapezium’ by the Polish railway enthusiasts. On a nippy February afternoon, the TLK13111 ‘Połoniny’ from Warszawa Wschodnia to Przemyśl Główny, via Radom, Sandomierz and Stalowa Wola is seen passing a quiet village of Styków near Starachowice.
EP07-384 awaits the scheduled departure time with the afternoon 33113 to Warszawa Wschodnia, some five years before the great reconstruction of Łódź Fabryczna, which changed this slightly ‘provincial’ station into one of the most impressive and modern transport hubs of Europe. The new underground Łódź Fabryczna was reopened in December 2016.
